Lapa and Escadaria Selarón
Vibrant, bohemian Lapa is renowned for its traditional bars, live music clubs, dance halls and the open-air samba jams held beneath the famous Roman-style aqueduct. Just a few minutes from the arches, Escadaria Seláron is a public stairway adorned by the late artist Jorge Selarón with colorful & hand-painted tiles. Featured in several music videos, the place was declared a city landmark in 2005 and is one of the most famous landmarks in Rio.

Rio’s most famous landmark, Chris the Redeemer is an Art Deco statue of Jesus Christ built between 1922 and 1931. Located at the peak of Corcovado, the statue is considered one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
We highly recommend booking ahead the 20 minute train journey that will take you though the world's largest urban forest: Tijuca's National Park, a part of the so-called Atlantic Forest, considered as an example of nature conservation.

Parque Lage
Just a half hour walk from Jardim Botânico, Parque Lage was converted in the 1960s into a public park and walking trails were installed through the subtropical forests of Tijuca National Park that surround the mansion leading up to just below the Christ the Redeemer statue, passing by waterfalls on your way up. Monkeys can be seen feasting in the trees high above the trails. The area also has chic bars and sophisticated dining spots popular with foodies.

Flamengo Beach
The closes to the apartments, a quick 15 minutes walk will take you to this family beach where you’ll be able to see planes landing and taking off from Santos Dumont Airport. You can rent chairs and parasols from the quiosk on the beach, and order light snacks and drinks to be brought to your seat. Beach vendors walk through all day long selling sandwhices, iced tea, acai and other healthy snacks. Perfect spot for a relaxing day in the sun.

Copacabana Beach
The most famous beach in Rio, Copacabana is known for its sidewalk with waves drawn in Portuguese stones, calm waters, clear sands and the beauty of its landscape. Birthplace of the famous song "The Girl from Ipanema", Ipanema is one of the best places to get a taste of Rio. Sharing it’s sandy beach with its neighbour Leblon, Ipanema is filled with chic boutiques and excellent restaurants and shops, giving you an insight into the “carioca lifestyle”.
